CULTURAL venues will be offering special discounts and promotions for nine days.
From March 20 to 28, a whole host of Greenwich borough attractions including Eltham Palace, Greenwich Planetarium and Greenwich Theatre will be throwing open their doors offering discounts up to 50 per cent.
The Be A Local Tourist event, organised by Greenwich Council, is designed to get residents out and about taking advantage of the area's culture.
Residents must show copies of the event leaflet when entering their chosen venues. These can be found in libraries, leisure centres, participating venues and the tourist information centre.
Council cabinet member for culture and Olympics, Councillor John Fahy, said: "There is sometimes a tendency for people who live in the area to forget about what's right on their doorstep which is where Be a Local Tourist comes in."
