TENNIS nuts do not have to be in SW19 or sat in front of a TV screen to keep up with the action from Wimbledon.

The official website, www.wimbledon.org, is an essential companion for anyone who wants to follow the championships online.

The site is a bit dull for 50 weeks of the year but, as you would expect, it comes alive during Wimbledon fortnight.

As well as providing those vital live scores, the site is packed with news and information.

Results, order of play, and player profiles are all there. If you want to dig a bit deeper than just keeping up with how Henman and Rusedski are doing than there is the Wimbledon history pages to browse through, which include stories on past champions and classic finals.

If reading text on screen is not for you then there are other ace ways in which you can get your fix of tennis.

Radio Wimbledon is the site's audio service which includes news, interviews, previews and match reports.

Wimbledon Plus is a subscription video service, which allows you to watch match coverage and highlights online. It costs a one-off fee of £5.

There is also a pay-per-view service which provides access to the archives of classic Wimbledon clashes for 50p per match.

It is building up to be a fantastic summer of sport, with the Wimbledon men's final and the Euro 2004 final both taking place on July 4. And, thanks to the web, you need not miss a second of the action.
