PLANS to build new homes on the award- winning Greenwich Millennium Village have been given the go-ahead.

Greenwich Council's planning board approved proposals for the 196 homes and 137 car parking spaces at a meeting at Woolwich Town Hall, Wellington Street, Woolwich.

The new homes will be in four to 10-storey blocks located on 1.8 acres between John Harrison Way, Bequerel Court and West Parkside.

They will be focused around a landscaped courtyard and add to the Greenwich Millennium Village's existing 671 homes.

A council report states: "The application provides a good mix of family and non-family dwellings of all tenures."
