THOUSANDS of people in Bexley will be receiving messages from the police ranging from witness appeals to street briefing dates, using the latest technology.
Bexley’s Safer Transport policing team will be one of the first transport teams in the Met to use Bluetooth technology to transmit messages and images via a new revolutionary system.
It will mean anyone who owns a Bluetooth activated device will be able to receive messages about crime prevention advice, dispersal zone details and links to other police information and surveys.
Team inspector Carol Marsh said: “The use of this technology is an innovative way to reach a broader audience at short notice.
“It is especially useful for advising public about bus safety and reminding them of our robust approach to reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.”
