A YOUTH who robbed another teenager of his mobile phone has been sentenced to youth custody for three months.
Woolwich Crown Court heard how Peter Armstrong, aged 18, was caught through a combination of CCTV surveillance and DNA.
Armstrong, unemployed, of Battery Road, Woolwich, who pleaded guilty to robbery, boarded a 422 bus at Bexleyheath railway station on November 13 last year.
He went upstairs where a 16-year-old boy was already sitting and shortly afterwards robbed the boy of his phone before getting off the bus at the next stop in Lenham Road, Bexleyheath.
The boy alerted the driver who called the police.
But the bus’s CCTV had filmed the robbery and a saliva stain where Armstrong had been standing was also matched to him.
