A GOVERNMENT minister visited a children's centre to talk about childcare.
Equality minister Harriet Harman spoke to mothers and children at the Storkway Children's Centre in Ridgebrook Road, Eltham on February 17.
She spent around an hour and a half meeting the parents and taking part in a general discussion about childcare and how it gives parents the opportunity to find work.
The centre works with parents in the lower to middle income brackets providing a drop-in child care service and health advice.
Ms Harman said: “Every parent we spoke to, whether mother or father, had a tale to tell about how the Storkway had helped them.”
Eltham MP Clive Efford, who joined Ms Harman, said: “The staff always try and meet the needs of parents coming to the centre.
“The stories of how the lives of parents have changed are really quite moving."
