COUNCIL tax is to rise across the borough but at the lowest increase since being introduced.
The decision was made at a Bromley Council meeting on February 15 and will see the tax rising by 0.94 per cent.
This means residents who live in Band D properties would have paid £1,288.98 last year, after a 2 per cent rise from the previous year, however it means the tax will only go up by £12.15 for 2010/2011.
The council has also set aside £1.5m to tackle local issues raise by residents, £1m will be used towards environmental improvements and £250,000 will go towards the community and voluntary sector.
Leader of the council, Councillor Stephen Carr, said: “Despite ongoing under funding by central government, and outright grant cuts in some cases, previous sound financial management means we are able to continue to invest in building a better Bromley.”
