A CHURCH is appealing for donations of Fairtrade products for two free lunches it is holding.
Emmanuel Baptist Church in Windmill Street, Gravesend, is putting on a free lunch for local residents this Friday and next Friday as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
It is appealing for donations of products sold by the Fairtrade brand, which makes sure the third world farmers who produce the food are paid fairly and work in good conditions.
Judith Wenban, who is organising the meals at the church, said: “I am asking for donations of Fairtrade products, and other simple lunch items, to enable us to once again offer the lunches free of charge.”
To help, or for more details, call the church on 01474 568498.
