TOUCHED by the images of Haiti she saw on the television, an eight-year-old girl decided to do something about it.
Danielle Trype came up with the idea of selling the toys she no longer plays with to raise money for the victims of the earthquake.
Her street sale near her house in Langley Way, West Wickham, raised £200 for the appeal.
Danielle’s mother Karen, 46, said: “People were definitely more generous because of the Haiti appeal.
“We were very pleased and we did not expect to raise that sort of money.”
She added: “We would like to thank everyone who came and contributed to make this a successful day.”
Danielle was awarded a badge and certificate from her school Pickhurst Junior because of her efforts.
