THREE men who threatened a family in their home at gunpoint have been found guilty of robbery and theft.
Woolwich Crown Court heard a group of men broke into a house in Forest Hill in June last year where a married couple and their two daughters, aged 15 and 12, were sleeping.
One of the men put a gun to the head of the 43-year-old father and demanded cash.
They took the family’s new Mercedes car worth £45,000, a plasma TV, two mobile phones, two iPhones, two laptops, two computer game consoles and an iPod.
When the men left the family called the police.
A passing police car from the Met’s dogs unit saw the group near Dulwich Park and stopped them.
Shortly afterwards, officers from Lewisham police arrived and found some of the stolen property when they searched their car.
The men were arrested and detectives from Lewisham CID began an investigation into the raid.
Trevor Cooke, aged 21, from Brixton; Ogarra Dixon, aged 18, from Brixton, and 23-year-old Reggie Junior Fowell-Boston, from Warwickshire, were charged with robbery, possessing an imitation firearm and theft of a motor vehicle.
All three were found guilty on February 4.
Two 21-year-olds from Brixton, Myles Maccalla and Sharando Cadette, had already pleaded guilty to the offences.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Rob Belcher said: “With the help of uniformed officers and the dog unit these men were captured soon after the incident and caught with the stolen property in their car.
“This quick response helped us prosecute the group and get these convictions. I hope the family can gain some solace from this, after they were put through a traumatic and frightening experience when the group entered their home and threatened to shoot them.”
The men are due to be sentenced on February 23.
