YOUNGSTERS are celebrating getting new equipment at their youth club after a donation from police, a council and a phone company.
Westcourt Youth Club has received a total of around £2,500 from Kent police, Gravesham Council and 02, which it has used to buy new laptop computers and games equipment.
This means the youngsters who attend the club, which is held at St Aidan’s Church in St Aidan’s Way, Gravesend, every Thursday evening, have better facilities for doing their homework and socialising.
The club was founded by the area’s beat officer PC Terry McCann and Kent County Council’s warden for the neighbourhood Kim Hill two years ago, and has grown to more than 30 members.
PC McCann said: “There is loads for them to do, and all the agencies work with them to make sure they keep on the straight and narrow and don’t want to get into any trouble.”
