STUDENTS have been learning how to defuse violent situations as part of a local campaign.
Pupils from Bonus Pastor School in Winlaton Road, Lewisham, took part in ENOUGH! campaign's drive to 'make violence history'.
The young mayor of Lewisham, Jacob Sakil, was on hand to answer questions from children, while Barry and Margaret Mizen spoke about the murder of their son Jimmy in 2008.
Chairman of ENOUGH!, Pete Pattisson, said: "The level of violence suffered by young people in London is unacceptable, and one of the problems is that young people often lack the skills to simply walk away.
"We had some of London's best youth groups, the young mayor and deputy young mayor and the police all working together, discussing the issues and contributing their time for free."
ENOUGH! is a community campaign group made from youth groups, citizen groups and police in Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth.
