A YOUTH theatre has begun a countywide tour of a play which encourages young people to challenge prejudices.
Last night, Walk Tall put on the first of six performances of Diverse City, which 22 of its members, aged 15 to 19, are touring at youth centres across Kent over the next four weeks.
Written by the Lower Road in Northfleet based youth theatre’s creative director 37-year-old Robbie Humphries, the play is a futuristic tale with a message about celebrating diversity.
He said: “The aim is to show young people that we should accept that everyone is different, and not hold it against them.”
After the play, the youngsters in the audience can join the actors for a workshop to discuss the themes of the story.
