A SOROPTIMIST club is holding an event to discuss women's health issues.

At least 50 women are due to attend and a few men have also shown interest.

The Gravesend Soroptimist Club is holding the event at the Riverside Centre, Dickens Road, Gravesend, on March 6.

The main speakers are from the Medway Hospital Osteoporosis Unit and Alzheimer & Dementia Support Services.

A questions and answers session will follow with several prominent guests from Darent Valley Hospital, north Kent police and the mayor of Gravesham.

Stallholders will be giving information on Osteoporosis and mental health.

Advice will also be provided on screening programmes and how to access medical facilities.

The club's coordinator of the programme action subcommittee, Farida Usman, says “We had a similar meeting last year.

“We had ladies talking of women's issues and there was a concentration on health and so we have decided to focus on that this year.”

Registration is at 9:30am for a 10am start and the entry cost is £2 including tea, coffee and biscuits.

The event ends at 2pm.
