DRINKERS had to be evacuated from a pub in Petts Wood because of a fire at a neighbouring restaurant.
Four fire engines were called to Radjoot Tandoori, Queensway, at around 3.40pm after thick smoke was reported billowing from the back of the premises.
Gas cylinders were removed from the restaurant’s kitchen and firefighters tackled the flames with a jet of water.
The Radjoot was closed to customers at the time of the incident but the next door Sovereign of the Seas pub was evacuated as a precaution.
