HOSPITAL wards are closed to visitors because of a major norovirus outbreak at the PRUH.

South London Healthcare NHS Trust has put in a number of measures at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, to try and stop it spreading.

These include restricting visiting to essential visits only and no more than two visitors per patient at a time.

Wards closed at the site are medical 1, medical 2, medical 4, medical 6, medical 7, medical 8, medical 9 as well as surgical 2, surgical 3 and surgical 6.

The stroke unit and the planned investigation unit are also closed.

Elective admissions for Monday that are not clinically urgent have also been cancelled.

Visitors experiencing diarrhoea and/or vomiting symptoms should not visit until 48 hours after symptoms have stopped.

Anyone with severe or persistent diarrhoea and vomiting should call their GP or NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
