A 29-YEAR-OLD man who barricaded himself into a garden shed threatening self-harm has been safely brought out.
Police were called to the incident in Littlebrook Manor Way, Dartford at around 5.30am today.
The man was being sought by officers last night and when he was brought out unharmed he was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Emergency services left the scene at around 9.30am and the road was re-opened.
Kent police’s critical incident commander Chief Inspector Martin Cunningham said: “At no stage was there any risk to the public.
“Our main concern was for the individual and his welfare.
“This multi-agency approach, close-working and communication ensured a safe ending to the situation we were called to.
“I’d like to thank the other agencies who worked with us bring this to a safe and reasonably quick resolution.
“I had police community support officers speaking with many people in the area and once they knew what was going on, they simply let us get on with it which I thank them for.”
