AN electrical fire started at a leisure centre on Saturday night (Feb 15).
Eight fire engines and 40 fire fighters tackled the blaze at the Eltham Centre, Eltham High Street, after being called out at 10.50pm.
The fire, which damaged part of the ground and first floor, was put out at 3.08am.
Though the cause of the fire is under investigation, Greenwich Council believes it was triggered by an electrical fault.
The building is currently closed while the extent of the damage to the wiring system is assessed.
