A TODDLER battling a rare type cancer has flown to America to receive life saving treatment.
Two-year-old Stella Rogers was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was 17 months old.
Her family have been desperately trying to raise £250,000 for revolutionary antibody treatment only available in the US.
Her mum, Allison Hyde, said: “Lots of people contacted us giving donations after the story appeared in the News Shopper.
“I can’t find the words to say thankyou.”
The family raised more than £40,000 for the treatment and were offered an emergency loan by 2Simple Trust for the rest of the cash.
Allison said: “We had to convince the charity we were able to fundraise and we were very committed.”
"We would like to thank the 2Simple Trust for an emergency loan for the deposit on £250,000.
"This has enabled us to come to Philadelphia and commence Sella's antibody treatment in the limited timeframe.
She added: "This loan was provided on an interest free basis. We will need to continue to fundraise throughtout the year in order to repay this money and fund the rest of her treatment."
The family are staying in Ronald Macdonald House which is a youth hostel for families with children attending The Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia.
Montbelle Primary School in Milverton Way, Eltham, raised £527 for Stella’s appeal by holding a cake sale.
