POLICE have successfully obtained Bromley’s first three-month closure order on a flat.
Bromley Magistrates’ Court imposed the order on after the persistent disorder and serious nuisance caused by a woman who lived in Upton Court, Blean Close, Penge.
The Penge and Cator Safer Neighbourhood Team worked with Bromley Council’s anti-social behaviour unit and Affinity Sutton Housing Association to make the order successful.
The woman and her visitors caused a lot of problems including fires being lit in communal areas, possible solvent abuse, Class B drug use, petrol being split from repairing mini mopeds in the communal areas, coupled with more general abuse, noise and fighting.
Sergeant Rob Goodwin, head of the Penge and Cator Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "If you act in an anti-social manner with no regard for others, you will be targeted and you may find that you potentially lose your home.”
The flat will be closed for three months while eviction proceedings are pursued.
