SOLDIERS will be sent shoeboxes full of gifts thanks to a shopping centre.
The Walnuts Shopping Centre is asking shoppers to fill a shoebox with items such as deodorant, sweets, razors and wet wipes.
These items will then be sent to British soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.
It is all part of Operation Shoebox which is an organisation which encourages people to fill the boxes with everyday items which the troops maybe missing.
The shopping centre has set itself a target of shoppers filling 200 boxes by February 21 which is when the campaign will end.
Centre manager, Martin Price, said: “I’m sure that with the help of local people we can reach and even exceed our target.
“People can also include a personal message in their box which will help boost morale and make even more a difference to the recipient.”
Standard size shoeboxes and filled shoeboxes can be donated via the centre management suite.
