Rock musician Peter Frampton was in bands Herd and Humble Pie before he hit the big time as a solo artist in the mid-1970s.
Frampton Comes Alive, which included well-known songs such as Baby, I Love Your Way and Show Me the Way, was a huge hit when released in 1976.
The album scaled the US chart and stayed on top for a total of 10 weeks in four visits during a record-breaking two-year stay.
It also reached number six in the UK album chart. The record became the biggest-selling live album in history and to date has sold over 15 million copies.
Frampton was born in Beckenham on April 22, 1950.
