FOLLOWING on from the success of last year’s event, the Rob Knox Film Festival is to be expanded again this year.
The former Bexley Film Festival was renamed last year in memory of murdered teenage actor Rob Knox from Sidcup and his father Colin was there to present one of the awards.
This year’s festival will take place in June at Cineworld in Bexleyheath, and the organisers are hoping to run extra screenings of films as well as masterclasses, workshops and talks.
Hollywood producer and scriptwriter Ben Trebilcook, who comes from Welling has agreed to lead the judging panel again this year and help organise the event.
The festival committee wants to hear from anyone living locally who has knowledge of television or films who would be prepared to help, and from any venues willing to host screenings, talks or workshops.
Anyone who would like to submit a film for the the festival, which is run by a partnership of local people and organisations, can email community.safety@bexley.gov.uk or call 020 8284 5541 for an application form.
The deadline for entries in April 19.
