UP and coming young artists at one Bexley school have some new gallery space in which to showcase their avant garde work.
The artists are all A level fine art students at Blackfen School for Girls in Blackfen Road, Blackfen, and they have transformed a lobby space in the school into The Core, a fully functional gallery space.
The seven students, Cherie Hillman, Natasha Hughes, Natalie Adkins, Emily Stuart, Eloise Green-Stone, Josh Budgen and Kriss (corr) Sykes, worked for three weeks to get the gallery up and running, installing fixtures and paintings the walls ready to host its first private viewing.
At the same time, they were preparing their own art pieces for the viewing which attended by the heads of art at other neighbouring schools and students from Goldsmiths College who are training to become art teachers.
