A NEW temporary health clinic is to be provided next to Crayford town hall to enable the redevelopment of the town hall site to get under way.
Bexley Council has given permission for a single-storey portable cabin to be erected on the western side of the town hall, in Crayford Road, Crayford, next to Topps Tiles, so the existing clinic behind the town hall can be demolished.
This will free up the site so phase one of the redevelopment can get underway in the spring.
The entrance to the temporary clinic will be ramped and 10 car parking spaces will be provided.
All the services at the current clinic will transfer over to the temporary building.
The redevelopment of the site, part of plans to regenerate Crayford’s town centre, will include186 new homes in part five/part six storey buildings, a new library, community centre, medical facilities and some new shops.
The town hall is to be converted into a restaurant with flats above.
