POLICE have seized what they believe to be an illegal dog breed and a quantity of drugs after spotting a car being driven erratically.
Two men were arrested and released on police bail pending further enquiries following the incident in Lodge Hill, Welling.
Officers from St Michael’s ward Safer Neighbourhoods team were on patrol in the Welling dispersal zone when they saw the car and pulled it over in Woolwich Road, Belvedere.
The two occupants were asked to get out and officers found what they believed to be 25 wraps of crack cocaine when they searched the car.
A specialist police dog handler was called after officers also found what they believed was a pit bull dog in the car, a breed banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act unless certain conditions are met.
The two men aged 24 and 41 were arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and the 41-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of owning a pit bull terrier.
