SWEEPING up got a bit more old fashioned for park visitors when they made their own brooms.
Using natural materials gathered from Bromley’s woodlands, workshop participants were taught about the ancient craft.
After chopping the branches down to size they crafted them into brooms at the BEECHE Centre at High Elms Country Park in Shire Lane, Farnborough.
The session was run by Bromley Council’s countryside service and is just one of a series of craft sessions run at the centre throughout the year.
Countryside officer Ewa Prokop said: “The event was held to show how woodland products would have been made in a woodland area and to keep the skill going.”
