PENSIONERS are being urged to take advantage of a winter fuel payment scheme.
Older people in Lewisham can claim between £125 and £400 towards their fuel bills over the winter period.
Mayor of Lewisham Sir Steve Bullock said: “Many people worry about their heating bills and keeping warm over the cold winter months. This year already we’ve seen heavy snowfall which undoubtedly means higher heating bills for many.
"For older people living on a pension it can be a real concern. Anyone over 60 should check their eligibility and claim their winter fuel payment.”
