READING groups from across Bexley’s libraries have been nominating their favourite reads for this year BILLY (Best in Libraries Last Year) awards.
Now everyone has until April to check out the shortlist, read the books and vote for their own favourites.
All the books are available in the borough’s libraries, or can be ordered from the library service on-line.
The books shortlisted for this year’s awards are Blood River by Tim Butcher, Engleby by Sebastian Faulks, The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, Gone with the Wind by Margaret Michell, Half of a Yellow Sun by Ngozi Adichie, Labyrinth by Kate Mosse, The Mesmerist by Barbara Ewing, People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, The Reader by Bernhard Schlink, The Road Home by Rose Tremain, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher by Kate Summerscale and A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson.
Voting forms are available from libraries or you can vote on-line at http://elibrary.bexley.gov.uk/rooms
The closing date is April 23 and you could win a £20 book token if you are a library member.
