ON the back of league-topping GCSE results, a school has landed a quintet of sixth form pupils a provisional place at Oxbridge.
Jenny Martin, 18, and 17-year-old Alexis Tymon have been offered places at Cambridge University later this year.
Meanwhile, Sophie Jamieson and Vicky Arnott, both 18, and Isabel Emburey, 17, have been accepted at Oxford University.
All the girls attend Bromley High School in Blackbrook Lane, Bickley, and head girl Alexis is the first ever pupil at the school to gain an Oxbridge place reading modern foreign languages.
The school’s GCSE results meant it was the highest achieving independant school in the borough.
New headteacher Louise Simpson said: “I’m thrilled to be able to congratulate the girls on their successes and am looking forward to the next crop of superb results.”
