Biggin Hill & Westerham would like wish a Happy New Year to all our supporters and thank them for their support in 2009.

In particular, we are grateful for the excellent response to our Christmas collections.

Our collections in Tesco Orpington and the Walnuts Centre ,Orpington, raised over £230 for Harris HospisCare.

On December 19, hardy Lions and family and friends collected outside Barclays Bank, Biggin Hill, and raised a further £188 for local causes.

A few of the things that we have been able to accomplish in 2009 thanks to the generousity of our supporters are: Demelza Children's Hospice - £655.00; Hospice in the Weald - £500; St Philomena's Primary School -£100; Bromley Youth Trust Donation - £100; Biggin Hill Friends of the Park - £50; Noah's Ark Children's Hospice - £101; RNLI - £50; Lions Belarus Trust - £200; Sight Savers Appeal - £250l; Bromley Welcare - £200; Lions Youth Trust Fund - £50; Royal British Legion Westerham - £50; Crofton Junior School - donation for wild area - £250; SARDA Meridian donation - £100; Bromley Mind - £100; Moorfield Hospital Sight Project - £500; Youth Cancer Trust - £450; St Theresa’s,Hazel Room Fund - £100; Deptford Reach - £100; Cumbria Floods Disaster Relief - £500.

Additionally we have been able to continue our ongoing projects: Community minibus run jointly with Biggin Hill Scouts; recycling of used spectacles and hearing aids; shoebox appeal for Belarus; senior Citizens Xmas Party; Its a Knockout competition for disabled youths.
