AFTER last month's hairdressing misery, it is time for reporter Dan Keel to take on a challenge which will test both his body and mind.
The daredevil hack will attempt to stay awake for a grand total of 34 hours as he watches all 26 episodes of the World at War series followed by the entire series of hit TV drama Band of Brothers.
The dare, marking the 70th anniversary of the start of the Second World War, will be a tough one for Dan who once missed a Lewisham Council meeting after falling asleep on the train. He woke up in Sevenoaks.
Editor Richard Firth said: "I once spoke for 10 minutes in a news meeting with Dan and when I looked up he’d fallen asleep, so how he’s hoping to last 34 hours is beyond me.
"Make no mistake about it – he tries to set himself up as a daredevil but in reality he’s a lazy, useless, deluded cretin. A dare where he simply has to sit there watching telly is therefore perfect for him.”
