A 54-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for raping a woman after a day-long drinking binge.
Vytautas Jasionis, from Southwark, raped a 32-year-old woman in a Woolwich flat in November last year.
He was today sentenced to six years in jail.
Sentencing him at Woolwich Crown Court, Judge Michael Carroll said: "This was a particularly violent attack which left the victim with a fracture to the wall of her cheek and a fractured wrist.
"It is my view that you have a drinking problem and that you remain a serious risk to the public."
The court heard how drunk Jasionis, who denied rape, had previously raped his mother-in-law in his home country Romania.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating the police response to the 999 call from a neighbour who heard screaming on the night of the Woolwich attack.
