HUNDREDS of youngsters will benefit from a youth and community centre set to open next month.

The JusB centre, in College Road, will cater for 10 to 18-year-olds in central and north Bromley.

Organisers say current facilities are limited for the area's 3,000 youngsters and it is hoped the centre will give teenagers who hang about on the streets somewhere to go.

A registered charity, JusB will rely on donations to fund evening sessions at the club, which has a cafe, games consoles, internet access, DVD players and film-making and editing equipment.

Project manager Rachel Archer says she hopes to be able to buy music-recording and DJing equipment in the near future.

She added: "When we've been open for a few months, we'll encourage youngsters to do their own fundraising."

Youth workers attached to the centre have also been out and about in Bromley since January and will continue their work in addition to the evening activities.

Residents and youngsters are invited to the launch of JusB on April 27 with stars and coaching staff from Charlton Athletic Football Club.

Once open, sessions will be on Tuesdays between 5.30pm and 7.30pm for 10 to 14-year-olds and 8pm to 10pm for 15 to 18-year-olds.
