GHOSTS of Londoners from the 19th century to the 1940s will be appearing on seven of the capital’s bridges next month.
But before you reach for the phone and call the Ghostbusters, you will be relieved to know the spooky looking figures are part of a live performance art project.
Two performers dressed as spirits will appear on bridges from Tower Bridge to London Bridge at 5pm on September 3.
Each ghost will move up and down the bridge and disappear after one hour into side streets.
The concept was inspired by recent statistics that showed how in the current economic climate people are spending more time at work and less time with friends and families.
It is the largest live performace piece Greenwich-based artist Natalia Skobeeva has worked on and she aims to challenge the routine of overwork and question current social values, by reminding us of the fragility of human life.
She said: “I am looking forward to seeing how each performance will interact with the viewers.
“I hope to puzzle and dazzle every viewer at least once.”
