YOUNGSTERS got a taste for Victorian life when they helped promote a new book about an historic building.
The 50-page publication called The School Room helps detail the history of the large building at the junction of Edward Road and Parish Lane in Penge.
The book includes old photographs and census data and even provides information on educational lectures in 1866 which lifted the lid on an exciting new development - electricity.
Author Jo Smith’s garden backs onto the school room. She said: “I had such a great time putting this book together.
"These memories will last forever if they go down in print.”
The £4 book can be bought from Solitaire Jewellers in Penge High Street or Holy Trinity Church in Lennard Road.
Proceeds will help provide activities for children at the church.
