THE sixth annual cricket match between the council and a housing association saw councillors slump to a 28 run defeat.
Back in 2004, Broomleigh Housing Association challenged Bromley’s councillors and officers to a game of cricket.
Five games on, with one match rained off, the council have won the Broomleigh Cup three times.
But on July 30, Bromley Council’s team could only manage 118 runs off 20 overs, compared to Broomleigh’s 146 runs.
Organiser and bowler Councillor Tim Stevens said: “This is a great way of building relationships between the two organisations.”
Around 30 spectators gathered to watch the match at Locksbottom Cricket Club on Tugmutton Common which helped raise £600 for the Mayor of Bromley’s charity, the Kent Association for the Blind.
