LEARNING support assistants from schools across Bromley borough have completed a visual impairment training course.

During the two year training the workers learned about the difficulties faced by visually impaired children and how best to support them in the classroom.

To pass the Greenwich University affiliated course, they had to complete assignments and coursework.

This included modules on the eye, preparing learning materials, promoting independence, mobility and play and leisure.

The course is run by the Vision Team which is part of Bromley Council’s children and young people department.

Eight learning support assistants were presented with their certificates at the sensory support service’s new building Griffins, in the grounds of Darrick Wood School, Lovibonds Avenue, Orpington.
