OFFICERS are hunting a thief who took an elderly man to a Chislehurst bank before swiping hundreds of pounds from his account.
The 76-year-old man was taken to the Barclays Bank in the high street where he was made to withdraw £290 from his account.
Vigilant bank staff stopped the crook from taking a further £390 from the pensioner’s account when the pair returned the following day (July 9).
Police say the suspect is white, aged from 35 to 40, about 5ft 8in tall and stocky with short black receding hair.
He had an earring in his left ear and was wearing a purple striped long sleeved shirt.
Anyone who recognises the suspect in the CCTV pictures should call investigating officer Detective Constable Clayton Price on 020 8721 4517 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
