ONE year has passed since the refurbishment of Lullingstone Roman Villa.
The anniversary of the £1.3 million revamp was celebrated at the Eynsford site on Friday July 24.
The refurbishment included a new roof, improved visitor facilities and an enhanced exhibition.
Visitors were invited to join in the anniversary celebrations and sample a birthday cake decorated with a reproduction of Lullingstone’s famous mosaic.
Karen Hawkins, visitor operations site supervisor, said: “We celebrated in style with over 100 visitors, despite the dull weather, probably because everything here is under cover.
"We were thrilled to see so many families tucking into our birthday cake, especially the children who loved our gingerbread roman coins, and enjoying the fabulous new facilities.”
