A BEXLEY youngster has just scooped a prize in a competition to design a cycling jersey.
Katie Furlong, seven, a pupil at Mayplace East Primary School in Barnehurst, has taken third prize in the competition organised by Transport for London (TfL).
She beat more than 6,000 entries from 200 schools across the capital for her third place in the competition to design a jersey promoting the health and environmental benefits of cycling.
Designs had to be around the theme of “cycling in my favourite place”.
Nisha Parmar from TfL said: “We thought there were wonderfully imaginative ways of showing how London is a great place to cycle.”
Katie’s headteacher Judith Pemberton said: “We are all very proud of her.”
Katie received an A2 framed poster of her design, a family pass to the London Transport Museum and a museum goodie bag.
