A CAFE that has been donating its takings to a hospice for 20 years has served its last cup of tea.
Regulars at Cafe Ellenor in Dartford shed a tear as they enjoyed a slice of cake for the final time.
The cafe in Bullace Lane, run mainly by volunteers, has been forced to close due to a loss of custom to chain food outlets.
Money raised from sales over the years has always been donated to the EllenorLions Hospices charity.
The charity’s director of fundraising, Steve Hudd, said: “It is vital that all monies raised are used to provide quality care and support for them.
“Therefore with some sadness but great celebration for what it has achieved over the years, the decision was made to close Café Ellenor.”
