YOUNGSTERS have been showcasing their creative talent at a youth event in New Cross.
More than 100 people, aged 11 to 24, descended upon Goldsmiths University Student Union in Lewisham Way on July 24 to display their musical, dancing and digital design skills.
The event, marked the launch of youth group, Ministry of Youth (MOY), which is a joint project between Lewisham Youth Service and youth community centres in the area.
It hopes to set up personal development workshops in New Cross to boost youngsters' confidence and lead them on to gaining NVQ qualifications to make them more employable.
Project co-ordinator at MOY, Philip Mills, said: "The day was very successful. We managed to engage at least 100 young people from the area and it's great that the youngsters themselves were involved in the organisation of the day.
"From the feedback we got, everyone enjoyed the day and many youngsters showed an interest in the scheme.
