A couple of weeks ago I was visiting a different part of the country with the two Excalibur juniors. We had stopped off in Pizza Hut after an enjoyable morning in this seaside resort when, as we were finishing, an elderly gentleman sitting on the next table leaned across and said “Have you taken the youngsters to the dinosaur exhibition yet?”
“No” I replied, unaware that there was such an exhibition in town.
“Ah, it’s wonderful” he said, finishing his coffee, “they’d love it”.
“Thanks, we’ll go there”
“No problem” he replied “it’s just that I’m the local councillor for the area”.
What a tremendous example of a local councillor! Now if only all of our local councillors put their petty party politics aside and promoted their area in the way this gentleman did.............
