TWO Scouts are celebrating after being chosen to go on an intensive music course with children from all over the country.
Christopher Morris and Owen Harris will join 69 young musicians at the 2009 National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra event.
The duo from the 8th West Wickham Scout Troop will have eight hours of intensive training a day with professional musicians during the course.
They will then perform in concerts at Chester Cathedral and The Grange Theatre, Hartford.
Music they will play include pieces by Dvorak, Copland and the Dam Busters March.
Christopher who plays the trumpet, said “I’m looking forward to meeting new people. It will be really useful to help me prepare for my upcoming Grade 8 exam.”
Both cellist Owen, 14, and 17-year-old Christopher attend Ravens Wood School in Bromley.
