AN IRISH dancing school has marked two decades of dancing by holding a celebratory party.
The Grove Irish Dancers, which relies entirely on donations, celebrated its 20th anniversary and raised £200 to go towards buying team dresses for competitions.
Also recognised was dance teacher Elaine Day, who established the school in 1989.
The school meets in Swanscombe on Tuesday evenings at the Pavilion, The Grove, and on Saturday mornings at The Heritage Hall, Craylands Lane.
Dancer Elaine Churcher, one of four who has been a member since the school began, said: “Twenty years is something to be proud of.
“People come to make friends, it’s very sociable.
“The school is somewhere for people to go dancing and enjoy themselves.”
