AN 11-YEAR-OLD pupil has received a letter from the Queen and a brand new bike to celebrate him not missing a day of school in seven years.
Jack Nicholson who attends Hillside Primary School in Dyke Drive, Orpington, was congratulated in a special assembly on July 20.
The Year 6 pupil was given the letter by the Queen and a limited edition Chris Hoy BMX bicycle from Cycles UK, based in Orpington High Street.
Bromley Council’s school attendance mascot, Spike, gave the youngster a bag of goodies and the mayor of Bromley, Councillor Douglas Auld, gave him a medal.
Spike also presented gifts and certificates to children at the school who have kept a 100 per cent attendance record during the past school year.
Head teacher Elizabeth Burman said: “I am so delighted for Jack and his family to have this amazing achievement shared and celebrated by the local community.”
