A NEIGHBOURHOOD which ate lunch together has come together as a community.
Residents of Leamington Avenue and surrounding roads took part in the Big Lunch, national event to bring communities together.
As well as tucking into a BBQ lunch the families enjoyed welly wanging, slow bicycle races and a talent show on the Leamington Avenue Open Space in Orpington.
Leamington Avenue resident Mark Newman said: “We would definitely look to organise something again because people do not talk to their neighbours and it is a way of meeting people.”
The 54-year-old said: “We now know more people to say hello to and I now know more people that I can go and talk to.”
Nearly 200 people attended the event.
