A RESTAURANT has beaten off competition and won a prestigious award, after currying favour with a local MP.
Indian restaurant Tamasha was deemed the best of 58 restaurants in the Vettee Tiffin Cup after it was nominated by Bromley and Chislehurst MP Bob Neill.
The curry house on Widmore Road scooped the award after reaching a shortlist of 11 restaurants and subsequently winning a cook-off at the House of Commons.
Bob Neill MP said: “It really is a first rate restaurant and the team had to beat off stiff competition from ten other restaurants from across the country to win this prestigious national award.”
The annual competition, raising money for the Roko Cancer Appeal, is run by MPs and celebrates south Asian food across the UK.
