TURNING left and cycle control were two of the challenges for children competing in a cycling competition.
The 44 competitors had to complete six different events in the Cyclist of the Year event at Norman Park, Bromley, and were scored out of 200.
Bickley Primary School pupil Elliot Wedge, aged 11, from Bromley, was crowned the winner after scoring 194 points.
One of the judges, cycle training officer Georgina Cooper said: “This year’s competition was incredibly hard to judge because the standard was so high.
“The title was won by three points with very few points between the top 10 finalists.”
Bromley Council has trained 1,500 youngsters up to level two of the cycling proficiency scheme this year, including the 44 who took part in the event.
